Chiang Mai has enough annual festival which attract a large number of both Thai and foreign tourists visit Chiang Mai through year
Joon la Kathin the name of the special celebration of the Buddhist holy season “Awk Pansa”. It marks the end of both lent and the rainy season. Throughout the month there are, Tod Kathin, colorful, noisy processions and donations of food and necessities to monk. Joon la kathin, it is different from Tod Kathin that it could do whenever as readiness at Wat Yaang Laung in Mae Jeam District. Yee Peng Festival or Loy Krathong Festival most charming of all Thai festivals; the custom of placing handmade floats decorated with flowers and candles on waterways goes back over 700 years to Sukhothai period. In the north “Yee Peng” is celebrated for two nights under the full moon. As the moon rise on the second night, a procession of beautiful maidens and floats parades through the city of Chiang Mai to the Mae Ping River.
